The Yew Dell Show is close at hand. This is always good news, as it means spring is here and it’s time to work on our trees. We will be using the Gheens Bank barn again this year, and it’s a great place to display our trees. I’m going to be using a different floor plan this year, and we won’t need as many trees as we required the last two years. The new set-up will require 31 trees. If you don’t mind, please give me a call and let me know which tree or trees you will be bringing. I need a description, so we can do a write up of each tree.

Since the ABS/BCI show is one year away, we are going to start designing and using some ideas we will use in the 2011 show.

Yew Dell Garden’s is located at 6220 Old La Grange, Crestwood, KY. Phone number 502-241-4788. I will start set-up Thursday the 22nd around 1 PM and Friday at 9 AM. If you can help, your support would be greatly appreciated. Trees will need to be delivered on Friday the 23rd, no later than 5 PM. They close the gates at 5 pm.

The easiest way to make your delivery is thru the back gate. If you use this entrance, you can drive right up to the barn. All you have to do is carry your tree right in the barn’s front door.

This is a good time to start preparing your trees for the ABS/BCi show. Make sure they are styled and healthy, pots cleaned and polished, moss if possible and not weeds. To make the arrangement complete, match the tree and pot with an appropriate stsnd.

Obviously, it will take a lot of people to staff the show. We will need help on Saturday and Sunday. Give me a call at 222-7419 if you can help out. It’s always lots of fun seeing the show and viewing the gardens. This is a special weekend at Yew Dell and vendors have a large variety of material to sell. This will be a great weekend and I’m looking forward to seeing all of you.
