On August 12, Earl Ekman will be giving a demonstration on how to build a slab for forest planting. Earl has been experimenting with a number of different types of systems and will be discussing the pros and cons of each. He has tried a number of different types of cements and will show results he obtained. Apparently, he found a relatively easy procedure for making the slabs.
He will also be discussing the design parameters of slabs in regards to planting the trees on the finished product.
Come to the Bon Air Library on the 12th at 7 PM to learn how to design, make and plant a slab. This will be a demonstration only, not a workshop.
