I hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying the New Year. The Greater Louisville Bonsai Society has some great plans for 2008. We've got a great schedule which should include something for everyone. Please try to make it to as many meetings as possible and be sure to share any thoughts or ideas you might have on how to improve the club.
Remember to pay your dues early. The low yearly fee is what helps keep the Greater Louisville Bonsai Society going and providing new and exciting programs for our members. In 2008, we will be bringing in Matt Ouwinga and Julian Adams for 2 separate programs.
The second Tuesday meeting for January will have Earl Cormney presenting a collection of bonsai videos from the club library. This should be a great time to review some of the videos that the club has to offer. Be sure to come and ask any questions you may have. Join us Tuesday, January 8th from 7-9pm at the Bonsai Library.
The following Saturday workshop for January will be held at Cave Hill Cemetery in the maintenance building. This is a soil-making workshop for club members. All that is required of you is to bring an empty 5 gallon bucket. Soil ingredients will be provided by the club and will include lava, pine bark mulch, and a soil conditioner. More information about soil, watering, and fertilizing will be discussed at the meeting as well. Join us Saturday, January 12th, at 10am at Cave Hill Cemetery. The cost of this workshop will be determined once materials are gathered.
