The club is going to renew an activity we haven't done in a long time. We are going back for a canoe trip down the Blue River in Milltown, Indiana. This trip is planned for Saturday, July 15th. The outing has a couple of different options. The first option is to meet at the Ramada Inn on Zorn Ave and I-71 at 8 AM and proceed to the Overlook Restaurant in Leavenworth IN. After breakfast proceed to the Blue River canoe rental in Milltown, IN. (Directions listed below)
The second option is to skip the breakfast and proceed directly to the Blue River in Milltown. We should all meet between 10 and 10:30 AM (this is Eastern Time) and check in for the canoe trip. If you haven't taken this trip, it is very enjoyable. The trip we will be taking is called the Totten Ford and it is 7 miles in length. The canoe company will transport us to Totten Ford via vans and put us in the water at this point. Remember to bring a lunch and drinks (no glass containers) as you will be on the water 4 to 5 hours, and don't forget the sunscreen and insect repellent. The canoe company requires shoes not sandals. Try to think ahead and bring all the items you will need for the day. This trip offers several good sites to stop and collect viewing stones and plants. There will be a charge of $17 to $19.00 per person for canoe rental depending on the number of people participating (with an additional $5.00 for kayaks).
I'm sure you are going to love it.
I would like to thank Midge Goeth, Tom and Helen McCurry, and my wife Sandy for all the hard work in putting together the garden tour this past month. All their effort and time created a tour that was spectacular. It made a wonderful day for everyone. Earl
