It's time for the annual garden tour-picnic and I can hardly wait. It doesn't seem possible we are halfway through the year. When you are having fun - time flies, and this has been a fun year. We've already had two workshops and a show at Yew-Dell Gardens. The garden tour will be Saturday, June 10 and we are going to three gardens. This year's gardens will be at the homes of Midge Goeth, Tom McCurry and Earl Ekman. Plan on meeting at 2 PM at Midge's house. Next we will proceed to Tommy McCurry's home at around 3 PM. At 4 PM we will make the trip to our home. [Directions are on page two].Somewhere around 5PM we will have a picnic. The club will furnish the meat dish, paper plates, cups, utensils, napkins, chips, and drinks. Please bring a vegetable dish or salad and a dessert. The food is always delicious and I can hardly wait. You may want to bring a couple of folding chairs so you can be more comfortable.
If you have some bonsai related materials you would like to sell or trade, bring it along. We'll have tables set up to put them on.
If you have something you would like to donate to the club, bring it to the picnic. We will have an auction, and the proceeds will go to the club. This should be a lot of fun and a great day.
I would like to congratulate George Buehler on a great honor he is about to receive. George has been nominated to the Board of Directors of the American Bonsai Society. He will be inducted at their convention in Saratoga Springs NY June 15 to 18. This is a terrific honor for George. Looks like a lot of people have noticed George's articles and his expertise in bonsai. If you are not a member of ABS, maybe this is a good time to join. It only costs $30 per year for membership. We're proud of you George.
Best regards, Earl
