Indianapolis Bonsai Exhibit

November 1, 2004 19:55
Several weeks ago, I drove to Indianapolis to visit the White River Gardens. From Sept 18 to Nov. 14, the Indianapolis Bonsai Club uses this venue to display their trees, give workshops and have some vendor weekends. I wasn’t able to make it on the weekend to see the vendors, but went during the week which probably was better since there were not many people and I could examine the trees without feeling rushed. I am putting several pictures here and our webmaster is putting others on the web site for you to examine. When I went, there were over 80 different trees on exhibit. The venue of the White River Gardens is ideal for exhibiting bonsai among the other plants they have growing there. The indoor tree exhibit had by far the most trees. However, the outdoor exhibit had some really nice specimens. You should definitely try to make this exhibit. In addition, you can buy a combination ticket and visit the Indianapolis zoo which is adjacent to the White River Gardens.
