Recently, Ron Smith sent me an Email regarding a web site called “Botanica”. When I investigated the site, I found this site was to mainly promote the building of a botanical garden in Louisville and to be a connection for the horticultural community in the area. They set up a calendar on their website for the various horticultural groups to set dates and for others like ours to tell the other groups what we had scheduled. I contacted their webmaster and asked if the GLBS could list events on their calendar. They readily said we could. When I sent in the info on the Green Tree show, it was posted within 2 hours.

If they can put together enough money, they will build a botanical garden in Louisville. When the garden is built, they have offered the facilities to hold our Bonsai show or shows. They plan on having a large exhibition hall on the grounds that we could use either alone or in conjunction with other botanical groups.

You might want to investigate the site (www.botanicakentucky.org ). You might also want to join since you will get a discount at 19 different nurseries as well as at the Bonsai Store. We will be listed in the listing of Gardening groups. I will pass along more information when it becomes available.
