Ron Smith had an open house and two demonstrations by Tom McCurry and Lee Squires to celebrate the restarting of his bonsai business in July. We in Louisville are lucky to have both Ron’s business and the Bonsai Store where we can get our supplies. Both the Bonsai Store and Ikarijin Bonsai should be supported by our local members.
Linda Kossmann’s pottery workshop was attended by 17 members. It was a great opportunity to make our own homemade pot. There were even some who made pottery other than bonsai pots (You may want to look on the web site to see the fun). Those of you who didn’t attend should make every effort to attend next years class (if we can get Linda to agree to do it again). Linda is an extremely talented artist and, with great patience, took the time to explain what we were supposed to do. She also showed great patience when some of the class went off in directions that were not planned. Thanks Linda, for your efforts.
Our webmaster, John Callaway, has set up a new domain for the GLBS web site. The new domain name is: www.louisvillebonsai.org. John has worked hard to put the information on the site. Take a look and let John know what you think.
The board has met to start the planning process for next years monthly schedule. I can’t tell you what they are until the schedule of the presenters and events are confirmed. I think the presenters the board wants to get are exciting. We will publish the 2005 schedule as soon as we can.
