Our one big show for the year will be coming up May 8-9 at the Oxmoor shopping center. Gene Sewell will be in charge of this show, so please get your trees ready and give Gene all the support you can. This years show will be dedicated to the memory of Dr. John Doyle who passed away recently. Dr. Doyle was a long time member and worked hard to make the club a success.
Trees should be brought to the shopping center Friday evening between 8 PM and 9 PM. The center wants us to set up after hours so we officially start at 9 PM. I believe we will be setting up in the Lazarus wing of the mall. We will need members to work the show on Saturday and Sunday. Please call Gene and donate a little time. I’m sure you will have a good time.
Following the show we will have a beginners workshop at the Bon Air Library on Tuesday May 25th from 7 PM to 9 PM. This is normally a very active workshop with lots of new people attending. Again we will need lots of help from all of our current members. This is the workshop which attracts most of our new members.
Congratulations to George Buehler. He is doing a wonderful job of putting together the newsletter and getting it out to our membership. If you can assist George by submitting articles and new ideas, please contact him.
Thanks to John Callaway we now have a club website. I’ve seen it and it looks great. If you want to see it log on to www.louisvillebonsai.org. Thanks to Tom McCurry for allowing us to dig trees at his nursery. Quite a few people were there and we came away with some nice trees.
